Murderer gets life in prison
An Albertville man has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to murder in the August 2009 stabbing death of his girlfriend. John Mark Cullom Jr. entered the plea in Judge Randall Cole’s courtroom in Fort Payne on Thursday morning, after which Cole imposed the sentence.

Church celebrates 225th year

Judge denies probation in case
A DeKalb County man sentenced to 20 years in prison after assaulting a Fort Payne police officer and making meth won’t get out anytime soon. On Tuesday, District Judge Randall Cole denied probation or alternate sentencing to Anthony “Snake” Townson.
